General Project Management Reading Link to Project Management Institute (PMI.org.uk) The Deadline (DeMarco, Tom) A classic DeMarco project management novel. Full of context driven learnings about project management, team interaction and insights into management. Built to Last (Collins and Porras) A terrific book on corporate success and reasoning. Lots of examples and good framework, I found it most enjoyable and informative. Good to Great (Collins) Yes, the wonderful Jim Collins and his team strike again! Details on what make good companies, great; leadership, facts, discipline, and supported by detailed research. Simplicity (Jensen) Jensen’s messages provide insights, tools and techniques in managing today’s complexity … ‘work smarter – not harder’ Project Management; (Dennis Lock) Non-PMI standard so unless you’ve already passed your PMP don’t absorb the terminology used! This book is easy to read, well structured and information. It provides good cross references for additional reading and source materials. Alpha Leadership (Deering, Dilts, Russell) A well written book by three exemplars of business success! There are insights from three very different individuals, with key points and anecdotes to inform and entertain. The Magic of Conflict (Crum) A great book which goes a great distance to dispel the myth that conflict is negative ‘… without conflict, new things in nature could not form …’
